We need civility and manners in America, so here are some facts ,without any name calling or personal attacks, that we need to consider as we choose a new President.
1. The War on Terror is the key issue, it is battle for the survival of this nation against radical Islam. John McCain is tested and understands the enemy, Barack Obama displays little knowledge and understanding of the threat or how to fight it. He advocates talking to people who want only to kill us, and are the enemies of America.
2. The economy is a legitimate issue; if we look at 20 of the past 28 years, low taxes in those years generated economic growth and prosperity, John McCain understands that. Barack Obama has said he will raise taxes to pay for bigger government programs.
3. Barack Obama is the product of a political machine in Chicago, the people he associates with are proven radicals, criminals, or currently under indictment. John McCain has a long record of integrity and honesty, and his character was tested and proven in a prison camp in North Vietnam.
On the facts, this should not be a contest, however, the main line press has picked their candidate (Barack Obama). His charisma and charm have drawn many young voters who are not well informed on the issues. Our best hope is to elect John McCain as our Commander in Chief. Vietnam Veterans understand appeasement and lack of political will during a war; it can spell defeat for our great nation if we are not vigilant. We must wake up America.

This is typical fear-mongering language. "War on Terror" the number one issue? Not health care? Not poverty?
Seriously.
What this blog title, I think, is really trying to say is:
"A non-white President is a Threat" -- because of racist undertones.
It's time for terror-obsessed Americans to live not with a spirit of fear but to make peace with the world.
Read the non-fiction book THREE CUPS OF TEA and be more informed than the political rhetoric coming out of conservative politicos.
I am surprised at your anger, and that you don't think the war on terror is our number one threat. How do you view radical Islam? Have you watched them kill innocent people? I am interested in how you arrive that focusing on the war on terror is racist?
The U.S. military has killed innocent people, especially Afghan and Iraqi women and children. Is not that an "act of terror" against humanity?
Get some critical thinking skills:
Much of the anti-Obama sentiment is racially motivated. Of course, the guilty deny this -- but it's coming from White America and it's there. White people never say they're racist, because they're in denial.
I believe that true answers to these issues--racism, fear, terror, poverty, war, and social justice lie beyond "fear-mongering" and all such charged language on both sides of the argument. Answers require true collaboration and a humble effort to understand those who see the world differently than you do.
Three Cups of Tea is a fantastic book, I agree. Perhaps the most important thing I learned from it was the reality that time, space, religion, culture, and history create an utterly different and often conflicting world view among peoples. We must concentrate together on social justice and the moral rights of humanity and be willing to accept the views of others as well avoid reactionary and abusive criticism towards our own (perhaps white?) heritage.
It is incredible to me that it always comes back to Racism! Obama IS a threat...and it has nothing to do with race. However, liberals, and Democrats are going to continue to use that excuse as the Scapegoat, possibly even to win an election. The fact is the posting is factual and correct, and you immediatly cry Racism...Predictable and Pathetic!
