A dark day for America.
Today the US Congress did a shameful act, one that lacked courage and will aid our enemies. They did it out of political hate for our Commander in Chief, and perhaps because they do not understand the lessons of history. Vietnam was a war that could have been won in 1965, but the political will to risk a wider war with China was not there, so we fought for ten years with limited objectives, and even then never lost a battle. Then the US Congress begin the move away from victory, and finally cut funding for any help when Vietnam was in its death throws. We can take a close look at Korea as well, fear of a wider war gave the enemy sanctuary, and we ended up with a split nation. However, if we look at WW II, or more recent small conflicts like Panama or Grenada we see victory because US troops walked into the enemy's turf and there were no sanctuaries. Today, we fight an enemy who has stated a desire to kill us; he will kill us when we attempt to talk, he will kill us when we sleep. America must awake! Veterans and patriots alike must sound the alarm, take action by calling to account our representatives who are advocating a sell out and defeat in Iraq and the Middle East. If we fail, our country may suffer untold damage. Americans are good people, but they have been mislead and lied to. Veterens and patriots must rise up, raise the flag high and speak out.
