Ask the Right Question

Don't ask don't tell was the best approach to the issue of gays in the military that allowed the military to meet it's mission and satisfy the ideology of the left. Gay's right to constitutional protection and freedom is not the issue. Common sense and understanding of how our services function in war and peace is the issue. The recent survey of military members did not ask the real and personal question on how the service men and women feel about living and fighting with gay men and women. I would like to hear from past and present leaders in all the services on their level of support for repeal of the current policy. This is a political move to satisfy a small percentage of people who believe this is about gay rights at the expense of our men and women who serve so well. Veterans need to speak up!

THE FIGHT CONTINUES

Veterans, along with many Americans, voted for a more conservative government this November. That means we must continue to protect our country from radical Islam as well as the forces from within that would move us away from our founding principals, expand our government into individuals lives, and fail to be financially responsible. Much of the media continues to influence education in America, with an agenda to convert young people to the "progressive" movement and away from our constitutional defined government. That will be the battle waged in the next two years. The country is divided, and the new generations coming may well determine what America looks like in the future. Veterans have a special love for our country, and must share what they know to be true and right with young people. It is hard work; getting involved in the political process, writing letters, supporting conservative candidates - all must be done before 2012. Those who love America must take action.

Support the Troops

All Americans and especially veterans should pay attention to the recent news leak that shows our troops are more in harm's way because of a questionable alliance with Pakistan. It is clear that our government wants to be perceived as willing to talk and deal with radical islamist governments rather than standing up to them. We must all support our troops by demanding that we use all means to defeat the enemy; we have done the opposite too many times in recent history. The current administration does not seem to have the stomach for the fight that must be fought now or in the near future. Pakistan needs to be put on notice to pick their side or suffer the consequences, and whatever they chosse, we must pursue the enemy wherever he is until we prevail. This includes dealing with Iran and supporting Israel; the Mideast is an extension of the war on terror, it is the same radical enemy that we fight. Don't sit back and watch America's hands be tied by the politicians, stay involved and help elect patriots this November.

Memorial Day 2010

Thank you to all the veterans who have served this country and are serving today in the War on Terror. I believe our military today is the best equipped, best trained, motivated, and the most lethal force in history. That said, since the all volunteer force had its beginning, many families are no longer connected to the military as they were during the large drafts of the past. That means that veterans need to educate and speak out on the critical issues of our times, and be defenders of our Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. The 2010 election begins what may be a battle for the soul of our country, standing for what is right about America and rejecting change that is damaging and wrong. Veterans still have a mission to defend America!

Courageous Christian Leadership

I just attended a conference in San Diego that focused on Christian leadership in challenging times. Well known speakers expressed the importance of the faith element being restored in our nation. Two speakers who are well known military heroes in their own right shared their story. Each acknowledged the need for a resurgence of faith in America. One was a part of the battle in Somalia that was shown in the movie "Black Hawk Down"; the other was a POW from the Vietnam War. Both faced death and hardship that defined them as believers in the sufficiency of God in their lives. I was challenged to realize that all the pleas to citizens to be active and involved in the political process is not the answer without adding the faith discussion. So, as I encourage Veterans to wake America up to the dangers in our world, and to be active in the fall political battles to select new leaders in congress who understand the times, I will also discuss the underlying foundation of faith as part of the solution to a better America.

Vets Must Stay Engaged

A reminder for veterans; our oath is to the Constitution of this great country, so although we may be too "old" to fight the current war on terror, we can still get into the battle for the soul of America now going on. Never has our country been so polarized, drowned in mis-information, and battling for its soul. We must be a part of this fight. The current health care debate is based on radical ideology, and court challenges based on our constitution are coming if the current bill is passed. Veterans can step up and inform those around us of the danger from within. This is not about a possible conspiracy theory, it is fact! We have political leaders who want to transform our republic in a new and dangerous direction. If we were attacked again, as we were on 911, citizens would rise up as one to defend our country; today, we are being attacked from within and it requires the same effort on the part of veterans and citizens to defend our nation. Those of us who served have a love and dedication to America that only we understand. We must get involved, be informed, stay engaged!

A CRITICAL VOTE IN MASSACHUSETTS

Do the voters in Massachusetts and America really want a "one party system"? History has recorded one party systems in the Soviet Union, Iraq, Cuba, China, and others; a one party system removes the people's will from the affairs of a nation. The campaign in Massachusetts is about the one party system which America is currently expiencing; a majority of democrats in both houses and the White house, and a desire to maintain a 60 vote margin in the senate which prevents discussion and compromise from the Democratic process designed by our founders. Currently, America's one party government has: increased the national debt to historic proportions, taken over private companies, proposed national health care (behind closed doors), and interrupted the natural forces of our economy in favor of more government control. In foreign policy, the War on Terror has slowed with attempts to appease our enemies with talk and promises, and our troops have been burdened with new rules of engagement which hamper their ability to defeat the enemy. We seem to be repeating the mistakes of the past and disregarding the lessons of history. America must return to a healthy two party system which represents all of our people, and reject one party control. Our nation was founded on majority rule and insuring the rights and voices of the minority. We must stop the current abuses of the one party system. It can begin in Massachusetts this year; you can help by contacting people and family you know in Massachusetts and encourage them to reject one party rule in America by their vote for Scott Brown. It is not too late to take our country back!
