Remembering 1968
Vietnam Vets might remember the 1968 Tet offensive by the NVN and the VC as the turning point in the war. It brought street riots to the Democrat convention in Chicago, and America's political will continued to slide towards withdrawal. The fact is no battle was lost by US forces, only the headlines. Does Tet remind us of the enemy's attempts in Iraq to grab headlines and influence Americans to encourage our government to back away again. We must not let our citizens be influenced by a few headline events in Iraq; the enemy is smart and learns from history, we must not make the same mistake again. Vietnam Vets can see what is happening, it is up to us to sound the alarm.

Okay, here's the drill as I see it. The left drove us into political defeat in 'Nam, and they want the same for Iraq and the War on Terror in general as well. No price is too high to achieve the overthrow of this Republic, even if it means our physical destruction and sublimation to Islamofaciscism. They think we'll all just sit down and smoke a peace pipe and revel in our new-found universal health care. The morons.
Here's what I think will need to happen before then. If they attain the White House and retain control of the Congress, our military needs to respond and vote with their feet. They'll have to allow their contracts to expire and leave the service. Enlisted men and women must not remain in service, officers must tender their resignations or allow themselves to be victimized by a party which has repeatedly and vehemently undermined their service, sacrifice and character. No true American military professional should serve such unfaithful masters. The left has demeaned them, slandered them and minimalized them without let-up for my entire adult life. Let's see how the so-called "liberals" respond to a mass exodus of the very people they despise when they suddenly discover, and need to react to the dangerous world we live in. The party which denounced the draft and brought to an end, will be the one demanding it's return. Watch.
Furthermore, those who've decried the alleged "abuses" of Presidential power by this beleagured administration will really and truly abuse them.
There's a good damned reason they've never pursued impeachment -because it'd pull the rug out from under their own ability to get anything done.
They'll ensure there's no dissent you can bet! Look how they want talk radio controlled. How they want everything ever so "PC". It'll be "group-think" or the Gulag. They constantly talk about freedom, but really only mean "their" concept of the word. If you're white, Christian, male and a "conservative", well... you know how they see them.
I believe the left will gain, seize and maintain power through ANY means here in The United States. I foresee an insidious erosion of civil liberties from them unlike anything they scream about now. I believe they'll impart controls on everything which threatens their power and will use police and National Guard like you won't believe. Martial law, "exclusion" zones... you name it. Liberal doesn't mean "liberal". It means Communist.
I say if you are now a soldier, sailor, airman, Marine, Coastguardsman, policeman or State Trooper get out. Get out now! if not, you'll soon be a pawn for a despotic government which knows no limits. You each need to search your hearts for what you believe and act accordingly. Pick a side, but remember that this point in history may well be the end of the America we have known and wanted for our children and their children. The United States as we have known may very well cease to be. Is that what you signed-on to defend? Are people like Obama, Clinton, Carter, Murtha, Kerry, Durbin, Pelosi, Kennedy and their like who you want to defend and put your lives on the line for? I pray not.
