Focus on Priorities

For all voters, and especially veterans, we need to focus on the priority needs of America in the coming election. There is a lot of smoke out there making it difficult to see clear solutions presented by candidates. I would offer the following three priorities for 2012 that must happen to recover America. (1) US GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO STOP SPENDING - balanced budget, new tax code, reduce government size. (2) RETURN POWER TO THE CITIZENS - State and local governments, schools, public services need to be removed from the federal government. (3) THE WAR ON TERROR IS NOT OVER - A new strategy is needed, re-examine every country and area we have troops, focus on the enemy, and provide more not less resources to our military. Veterans can look at candidates and measure their rhetoric by the three areas mentioned. Voters who know the threat can help recover our great nation.

Thanks, Steve, for starting this blog. More than any other election I can think of since I've been aware of the political process, the 2012 election could not be more important to our very survival. Not only knowing where our candidates stand on economic issues, the military, fight against terrorism, and cultural issues, we need to know what their positions are on friendship with Islam and allowing them to have their laws take precedence over our Constitution.
Our involvement as citizens who care deeply about our country and its future should speak out -- silence is not an option at this point. And we who are Christians, should be regularly petitioning our awesome God for His mercy in the future of the USA.
We should also make our voices heard to the candidates that they cease this infighting and tearing each other down and focus on defeating the current administration. The way it is going at present is only giving fodder to be used against whichever candidate wins the primary election.
